Mark Fenn Award 2013
The 2013 ACJ Mark Fenn Award went to Elizabeth Campbell.
Elizabeth, who has just graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, was selected by judges, Karen Dell’Armi, Melanie Eddy and Terry Hunt, from a large short list of exciting contemporary jewellers exhibiting at New Designers, London.
Elizabeth is well versed in traditional methods employing vitreous enamel, but her current collection uses honeycomb soldering blocks as a support medium. The blocks are carved into various forms providing quite delicate components which are enhanced with a sparing and sensitive use of enamels.
She will be taking a residency at Glasgow School of Art over the coming year in which her intention is to pursue other experimental supports for enamel.
