Three special events are planned.
Interactive film screening: colouring titanium
15th June, 6pm – 8.30pm, £10 (including a glass of wine)
See how titanium can be coloured by anodising and by heat. Dr Lynne Bartlett's talk will explain the processes on video, then she'll discuss enhancing the colour using machine engraving and laser etching to create multi-coloured patterns on simple titanium shapes.
Jewellery with found objects
21st June, 6pm – 8pm, £10 (including a glass of wine)
Multi-skilled jeweller Dauvit Alexander scavenges old warehouses, scrapheaps and disused airfields for interesting abandoned objects. He uses these in narrative pieces of jewellery, often incorporating castings, precious metals and set gemstones to tell stories.
He’ll explain with slides his approach to design and making, and show examples from others working in a similar vein.
Curator's talk
27th June, 6pm – 7.30pm, £5
Exhibition curator Terry Hunt will move through the display of work drawing attention to significant aspects and highlighting developments seen within the artists' work over 20 years.
