Gail Ferriman Black Necklace

Black Necklace with ‘Carbon’ brooch/pendant

Twelve years ago I made three large brooches on the theme of climate change. For this exhibition I wanted to re-work these ideas with current thinking and use materials appropriate to 2020. I’ve created three necklaces that can be worn alone or with the original brooches.

The brooches addressed issues relating to:

Arctic ice melting (white necklace)

the ‘Keep it in the ground' campaign for coal and gas (black necklace)

and charting the world's rising temperatures (red necklace)           Brooches 2008, necklaces 2020
