"I am particularly inspired by the influence of art on architecture and design through the ages and across cultures. Nature is also fascinating objects for me. I enjoy employing patterns from bygone eras and hand-cutting with a jeweler’s saw to bring light through. I find it fascinating to make pieces that are three-dimensional so the whole shape creates mysterious yet elegant shadows. My designs are a marriage of neoclassical flourish and subtle feminine beauty, sometimes subconsciously reflecting my native Japanese culture".

Hiromi Suter is a native of Kyoto, Japan. She mastered Japanese traditional tea ceremony and currently studies professional Kimono wearing and history, both being a major influence for her creations. She became attracted to art jewelry after taking part time metalsmithing classes following a move from London to Boston. Although she took classes for a couple of years, she relishes experimenting with techniques at home. As a craft enthusiast from early childhood, her inner creative spirit was latent for many years, but has now found an opportunity to blossom. Her designs are often etched and pierced delicately with a jeweler’s saw, and then riveted and formed by hand to create intricate three dimensional structures. Her designs begin as an idea from the soul, and evolve through drawing to mature through the physical making process. She is inspired by her traditional Japanese heritage, European architecture and the natural world.
