Eleanor Christine Jewellery
I loved making decorative jewellery even as a child, usually from dyed melon pips sewn together with cotton, thankfully these days my designs are a little more sophisticated, although none of that little girl's passion and excitement has waned!
I specialise in sculptural and statement pieces, made in a variety of processes - constructed, wax carved and cast, and hand pierced. I love the tactile nature of silver and gold, every single piece I hand make has something completely individual to teach me about the metal I use, each item, a totally exclusive piece of art. Colour is important to me, so I am drawn to beautiful stones, like a magpie, each and every item I make is entirely bespoke and utterly unique.
Making and creating is something that is an intrinsic part of me, and I love that I am now able to share this with people, I simply adore jewellery, in fact I don’t think that any outfit is complete without an adornment of some kind.
I studied art and my first job was at the Royal Academy of Art in Piccadilly, somehow I ended up as a live event producer for many years working all over the world, a job I loved, but creative desire yearned within me, gradually getting louder as I became more and more frustrated that I hadn’t followed my passion. When my daughter was born I knew that I had to change my life, it took me a while to build up the courage, but I eventually booked myself on a short course at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. That was all it needed, I was hooked, I was energised and knew that I must design and make jewellery for a living.
