Jeremy makes colourful contemporary sculpture and jewellery from titanium, niobium and other metals to commemorate personal, family and corporate events. An elected member of the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen and Association of Contemporary Jewellery, he exhibits in galleries and has taught at an Art College. Inspired by the spectacular colours he can achieve with reactive metals, he enjoys sharing his enthusiasm, knowledge and techniques - some of which he invented - with members of the public.

1968 on: Self-taught jeweller and sculptor in metal
1978: Internship at Gies et fils, precious metal engraving studio, Opera, Paris
1979: University of London Convocation Trust Fund Prize for three month study tour to Sri Lanka to document jewellery workshops, gem mines and polishers
1991-92: Pupil of Edith Sommer, Palo Alto, California, focusing on reactive metals
1999-2001: Pupil of Frances Lester, Dorking, Surrey
2004: Elected member by portfolio, Surrey Guild of Craftsmen
2007-9: Teaching reactive metal techniques to students on the Jewellery & Metalworking degree at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee (lectures, demonstrations and supervised workshop sessions)
2018-24: Accepted as a full member on the basis of portfolio, Marlborough Open Studios
2023: Accepted as a member, Wagon Yard Studios, Marlborough

SELECTED COMMISSIONS

2021-2024: various necklaces for clients in the UK, Australia and USA
2020: Silver, gold and titanium 28cm square jigsaw with 49 pieces, some decorated to represent events in the lives of a married couple - for a private UK client
2005-22: Many private commissions for jewellery including pendants, ear rings, necklaces & rings for clients in UK, USA, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Netherlands & Sweden.
2008: Titanium awards for Scottish national pathways conference
2004: “Five NICE years”: 1m X 0.5m X 25cm titanium sculpture to commemorate first 5 years of National Institute of Clinical Excellence – on public display at 71 High Holborn, London. One third size copies of 5 NICE Years commissioned for Sir Michael Rawlins, chair and Sir Andrew Dillon, Chief Executive of NICE
2003: Various items of titanium and silver jewellery – private commissions; 50th birthday present: ring-anodised titanium tube jigsaw
2002: “Ups and downs”: 50th birthday sculpture - 50 columns of stained hard wood, base and precious metals on an ash base, reflecting a varied life
2002: Eighteen and accelerating”:18th birthday present – titanium logarithmic series on ash base
2001: “Fifty Golden Years”: golden wedding present – silver, gold and titanium 64-piece jigsaw, new piece mailed every anniversary
