Designer jeweller Abigail Stradling, a newcomer to IJL, has scooped the IJL Editor’s choice award for Overall Originality and Inspirational Craftsmanship, beating off competition from a record number of entrants. Abigail, who graduated from the School of Jewellery Birmingham in 2006 was selected to exhibit at IJL as part of the KickStart scheme sponsored by the BJA. Her signature Time collection, a mix of hand blown glass with precious metals, utilises unusual materials such as wood, sand and oil that are captured within a glass form creating an exceptionally strong look that is also rich with meaning.
