Susi creates contemporary jewellery using traditional complex constructions, developing her own gold alloys to achieve subtle colour variations in her pieces. She combines these hand made structures with etched and patinated surfaces, different golds, silver, unusual diamonds and other gemstones.

She has an acute sense of transience and evolution in nature and harnesses this to express metamorphosis, pattern, change and movement in her jewellery.

By smelting her own gold alloys to achieve tiny shifts in colour she is able to ‘paint’ from a palette with metal. She uses this to hand build structures that articulate, creating visual rhythm, repeated motifs and moving forms.

Her jewellery plays on surprise elements - movement or rotation through complex assembly is a key element in many pieces. Her signature Mutabilis Ring Collection comprise opening rings, registered as unique designs with the patent office which allow the centre ring to be changed or worn separately.

She often works to commission and put strong emphasis on engaging with a client through drawings and models before constructing the final piece.
