Julia Parry Jones

Julia is an art jeweller whose work translates emotions and internal landscapes into tangible, thought-provoking jewellery. Drawing on her Fine Art background, she blends traditional techniques like piercing and setting with experimental methods such as 3-D drawing, electroforming, and embroidery. Embracing multi-functionality and playfulness, Julia creates pieces that contribute to the ongoing dialogue between art, craft and design, while championing the positive social impact of handmade narrative objects.
Julia's current collection, 'Drawing Breath,' started as a way of calming her bouts of anxiety by drawing the shape, colour and texture of her breath. She went on to explore making wearable representations of the breath, using a 3-D pen to "draw" in the air and capturing each one in real time whilst noting its qualities. The resulting work is a collection of cast breath specimens, each one unique and authentic to the moment it was drawn.
